Microsoft has announced that cloud-deleted OneDrive files will no longer appear in the local Recycle Bin starting May 2026, with no admin opt-out available.
Starting May 2026, OneDrive cloud deletions won’t show in local trash. Recovery now happens via the web recycle bin.
