Secret UFO records finally go public as Pentagon opens decades of files
The Pentagon on Friday released a first batch of secret files documenting reported sightings of unidentified flying objects—some dating back to the 1940s—fanning speculation over whether alien life exists.
The US government released new files on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP). Florida has the second most UFO sightings.
While most of the material reflects previously known “UFO-era hysteria” surrounding Project Blue Book and the Air Force’s investigations into UAPs, some portions stand out because of how they frame the government’s awareness of public concern over secrecy and nuclear research. They have always acknowledged public concern, which remains clear.
Colorado Congresswoman Lauren Boebert has claimed that declassified UFO files suggest the existence of biblical demons rather than extraterrestrial beings, sparking debate over the interpretation of the documents.
