A winter storm is bringing snow and dangerous roads to the Navajo Nation, while most of Arizona sees only a brief cold snap.
Arizona temperatures dipped Monday, falling nearly 10 degrees from Sunday’s highs, while Bullhead City recorded wind gusts up to 36 mph. The Phoenix area is expected to reach a high of 75 degrees Tuesday under mostly sunny skies.
It’s been quite the dry winter around the state, and the clock is ticking for us to try and make up ground.

Arizona weather forecast: Dry, mild conditions on Thursday before next cold front arrives
On Thursday afternoon, the forecast high reaches 73 degrees in the Valley as we prepare for changes shifting in by Friday.
Snow moved into the high country early Jan. 8 and was expected to continue through the afternoon and evening. Flagstaff had picked up 2 to 4 inches, with snow reaching lower elevations, including Prescott and Sedona, according to the National Weather Service in Flagstaff.
Both Friday and Saturday are First Alert Weather Days. Rain chances are currently near 20% for Friday, 40% for Friday night, 50% for Saturday and 20% for Saturday night. The best chance for widespread and measurable rain is Friday night into Saturday morning.
The pair of midweek storm systems delivered a one-two punch, with the colder second wave system bringing widespread rain, lower snow levels and hazardous travel conditions, especially across the northern and eastern regions.
