One of my favorite native flowering shrubs is Pacific ninebark, Physocarpus capitatus. This wonderful pollinator plant that is native to Northern California can be found throughout Humboldt County.
In the early days of my quest to create a mixed border with perennials and shrubs, ninebark was relatively low on my list of “must-have” shrubs.
