Five people have been charged with murder in a deadly Northern California explosion at a fireworks warehouse that killed seven people and shook a tiny farming community, authorities said Friday.

Seven people -- including a sheriff's lieutenant -- were arrested Thursday in connection with an explosion at an illegal fireworks facility in rural Yolo County that killed seven last July.

Among the dead, four had ties to the Bay Area.
