A man in his 20s has been taken to hospital after being bitten by a crocodile at a creek in North Queensland.

More crocodiles are going to commercial farms and zoos following a step-up in removals from the wild.

It is understood the man in his 20s suffered puncture wounds to his lower back, upper legs and hand.
