As North Texas braces for forecast freezing temperatures and snow this weekend, Collin County officials have announced some modified services in light of

ATLANTA — Winter storms can bring a wide variety of precipitation to the Peach State, from snow to sleet, freezing rain and just plain rain. Although snow is what many get most excited about and fixate on, freezing rain is a greater danger. It can lead to extremely dangerous driving conditions and power outages.

The risk for widespread snow across our entire area is now high for the weekend. We could see the first flakes start to move in during the day on Friday, though snow chances will be highest from late Friday night into Saturday, and possibly continuing into Saturday night.
