Empire Offshore Wind files suit to halt Interior Department stop-work order on its $5B Long Island project, seeking injunction as construction is 60% complete.

President Trump’s suspension of U.S. offshore wind projects is heightening political risk, raising capital costs, and threatening investor confidence across the global wind industry.

The group said it now expects completed negotiations and executed contracts by June 30. Those contracts would now be filed with the DPU (the step at which ratepayers can learn the cost of the projects) by Aug. 31, putting the procurement process about two years behind its original schedule.
