Darrell Sibosado’s Aalingoon (Rainbow Serpent) is a corten steel relief that rusts back toward its origins in iron ore. Garry Sibosado creates riji, including Goolalii (storm to the west), from lustrous pearl shell, incised and rubbed with red ochre in the Bard tradition to evoke approaching storms. Working at different ends of the same material lineage, Darrell and Garry draw on a shared cosmology. Industrial steel is transformed into the ancestral Rainbow Serpent, while guwan (pearl shell), un
