One way I have students practice with their decodable books is identifying words that fit the specific letter/sound pattern we are working on. When it’s in a regular book, I will often hand them a sticky note and then as they find a word that fits our focus pattern, they add it to the note! This has been helpful for students focusing on specific skills and being able to identify words with them!
