Firefighters were kept busy on Sunday battling a fast-moving vegetation fire at Beerwah. Rural Fire Service and Fire and Rescue Service crews were supported by numerous aircraft to contain the fire in the Glass House Mountains National Park. An Emergency Alert was issued to residents in the area but thankfully the warning has been downgraded to Advice. Queensland Fire and Rescue swiftwater teams have been kept busy evacuating people from residences in Ipswich, Sunshine Coast and Brisbane this morning. They have also been called to multiple cars in floodwater, including at Palmwoods earlier today. Crews used a drone to locate the vehicles and guide swiftwater crews to them, where they successfully rescued two people.
