Why do we celebrate Flag day? In 1916, Woodrow Wilson set aside June 14th as a holiday to proudly display the flag in as many ways as possible. June 14th was chosen as it's believed to be the day that George Washington commissioned Betsy Ross to create the flag of the new nation.
