Ido Weisman’s short documentary, “Requiem for a Whale,” documents the human reactions to a dead whale on the beach. Shot in two days in February, 2021, Weisman combines visual material from the days after the whale washed ashore with voice-over conversations conducted later on. “I remember standing in front of him and asking for forgiveness,” one witness said, referring to the whale.
