The Stridsvagn 103 was a truly unconventional tank - the first production tank to be powered by a turbine engine and it was also the only mass produced tank since the Second World War to not have a turret. The S-Tank crews would aim the main gun by moving the vehicle, traverse the gun by swinging on its tracks, and alter the attitude of its suspension in order to gain elevation or depression. Despite its unusual appearance, the S-Tank was designed and intended to be used in exactly the same way
