It was transfixed on August 3rd when I witnessed this thunderstorm transitioning through different phases of development over the 2 hours I was there on a ridge in Black Mesa State Park. I've worked up several 9x12 color studies so far, to find out which stage of the storm's progression I most want to paint bigger.
