Originally chartered in 1850, the L&N grew into a vital transportation link between the Gulf Coast and the nation’s heartland. Our 16th CSX Heritage Locomotive, numbered #1834, is officially on track! This locomotive proudly bears the livery of the historic Georgia Railroad, which was chartered in Athens, GA. At its peak, the Georgia Railroad expanded to include key cities and hundreds of miles of track. It later became part of the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad and the Family Lines System, ultimately evolving into our modern CSX.
