On December 24, 2025, a Los Angeles County Fire Department helicopter assisted first responders in rescuing three people stranded on the roof of a home in the community of Pinon Hills. Authorities said the residence was surrounded by floodwaters, making ground access impossible. The pilot landed the helicopter directly on the roof to safely extract the occupants.
