2003 Fav Events: 2 different days stand out to me. May 4th huge outbreak centered on MO/KS, and of course the June 24th Manchester, SD day where we witnessed 16 tornadoes! First, May 4th. Massive violent tornado that was on the ground for 49 miles, rated high end F3 ripped through an area from near Pierce City, MO to near Springfield, MO. Pierce City bore the brunt of it with horrific damage and loss of life. I still think of the unfortunate good people of Pierce City every time we chase around
