Day Three -A Blood Moon reveals the distinctive outline of the rare USAAF Lockheed P-38M “Night Lightning.” This late-WWII, two-seat night-fighter variant of the P-38 was painted black and equipped with nose-mounted radar for nocturnal operations. Developed toward the end of the war for night interception duties in the Pacific Theater, the P-38M remains one of the most unique Lightning variants.

This is CGI - Day Seven - Continuing the series of our Christmas Countdown with WWII aircraft in the Winter with the Lockheed P-38 Lightnings, pilots liked it for its range, safety, and firepower.
